Surpriseeeeeee! Carmen here…you know, the Founder of I Still Matter. I wanted to share something really awesome with you all! We are getting a brand new logo! Take a moment to process that the green circle dot will no longer be what you see when we make a post, a flyer, a business card, etc. Honestly, I purchased the green logo from Etsy a couple years ago when I realized ISM could possibly be a real “thing”.
As a visual representation of an organization, a logo is very important! I dare say that a logo can determine the overall health of an organization. A logo gives a snapshot of what you stand for and who you are. Our new logo was created in collaboration with graphic designer Coleen Williams (Instagram @cnoellewilliams). Coleen is absolutely AMAZING and really took the time out to truly learn who ISM is (and in the process became a new volunteer!). I’d like to explain a little bit about the logo we chose so you can be just as excited about it as we are!
The Square: The box or square represents your story-your journey. Basically, you are the canvas (kinda like Inside Out). It includes all parts of your life-past, present and future-all the parts that make you, YOU!
The Watercolor Splash: The watercolor look represents a few things. At a very basic level it represents ISM’s use of art as a healing process. It represents our programs and who we are. As you can see, the watercolor splash isn’t contained or only inside the box…that’s because ISM thinks OUTSIDE of the box! Our programming and our ideas are unique and we wanted our logo to represent that! Life doesn’t fit into a “one size fits all” neatly organized package. Life is messy! Color outside the lines!
The Color: We decided to go with colors that are soothing and calming. We kept the element of green from our original logo (may it rest in peace) because it’s the “color” used for mental health. The hues of blue remind us of how deep emotions can run-like the depths of the ocean.
The Heart: Love is at the heart of what we do. The heart represents encouragement, hope and healing.
And without further adue…
I hope you love it. Look for our new logo to make it’s home on all our social media platforms over the next few days! It’s still us, but better!
~Carmen
P.S.-Speaking of the ISM “team” we are always looking for volunteers! Please send us an email if you’d like to be involved! [email protected]
