2018 Report Card | #givingtuesday

We have two days for getting deals: Black Friday & Cyber Monday. On Giving Tuesday, we have a day for giving back. #GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the “Reason for the Season”! Giving Tuesday doesn’t just end on November 27, 2018, it’s an invitation to help us increase our donations through the rest of the year.

We’ve had a great year!  Here is our REPORT CARD for 2018!

Participated in the panel at The 5 & Dime’s production of “The Wall”, a play designed to change the way we think about mental illness. Hope McMath curated artwork from Inside Out and the artwork hung on the walls during the production.

In collaboration with Jeanine Hoff from Where Is The Sunshine? we celebrated and cultivated community support around mental & emotional wellness under a canopy of stars at the Museum of Science & History at Mosaic. Melissa Ross from First Coast Connect was the guest speaker and there were over 100 attendees.

Collaborating with the Main Library Downtown in the Jax Makerspace, we gave I Still Matter volunteers and artists the opportunity to submit and show their artwork in the library exhibit titled “Prescribed Expression”. The goal of the exhibit was to highlight healing through the arts and several other non profits took part.

In October, not only did we help spread a larger message regarding the importance of peer support in Jacksonville when we were asked to co-host the Florida Mental Health Summit with Mental Health America, but we helped bring the first Wellness Room to the Summit! We also received an official partner bell from the Executive Director, Wendy Hughes.

In partnership with Magellan Health, we have been invited to speak at and help facilitate wellness programing at the iNAPS Peer Conference in Orlando in December.

in 2018, over 200 people participated in our healing arts programming at Baptist Health Downtown Jacksonville and Vagabond Coffee in Murray Hill.

We were interviewed for Void Live’s “Do Good” Issue in November of 2018 (and it’s a pretty awesome article if we do say so ourselves) Check it out! Earlier in the year we were interviewed by the Florida Times Union. See link below.

We started our first newsletter! If you’d like to be added to the list please email [email protected]

We spoke at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences as part of a Lunch & Learn with the Occupational Class-55 students!
