Recently, I Still Matter was invited to host a workshop at the First Coast Girls Initiative. The workshop was title “Advocacy is Healing” and featured guest speaker, Lydia Joyner. Lydia is an inspirational writer with a story to tell about growing up in foster care. Her book is titled Little Wild Thang and you can read more about it by clicking on the picture below. 

Our breakout session workshop was titled “The Hand We’re Dealt”. The idea behind this project was for participants to create something beautiful & inspirational out of the mundane. We are all dealt a deck of cards and even though we can’t help what cards we are dealt, we DO have control of how we play our hand.

Participants wrote down what they’d like to release and incorporated into their card.
